Alicja Leszczynski

Alicja Leszczynski, 57, passed away Friday evening, Decemeber 11, 2015, at her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Her loving, caring spirit radiated in her warm, welcoming smile even through the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis multiple surgeries, ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She was admired as a true lady and friend and was an inspiration to all who knew her before and during her battle. She was born in Lwowek Slaski, Poland on Feburary 7, 1958 to Zofia and the late Stanislaw Jedrzejewski. She, her husband, and two daughters moved to the United States in 1989 for a "better life." She was a resident of North Carolina ever since. Alicja worked at Carolina Foods Inc. for over 20 years until her breast cancer battle resulted in her inability to continue to work. Alicja will always be remembered for her stylish shoes and sense of fashion by her friends and family. She enjoyed vacations to the beach were she would relax on the beachy sands all day long and search for seashells. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family especially her favorite Polish, traditional dishes. In her spare time, Alicja spent time with her friends, family, and her grandson, Evan. She cherished every moment she had with her loved ones. She is survived by her mother Zofia Jedrzejewski; her husband of 37 years, Zygmunt Leszczynski. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Kinga Leszczynski and Marta Sherrin and husband Nathan. She was the beloved "babcia"(grandmother) to one grandson, Evan Sherrin. She was a caring sister to 3 brothers, Waldemar, Andrzej and wife Bozena, and Ireneusz and Ela Jedrzejewski. Also nieces, nephews, and many friends. Alicja was preceded in death by her father, Stanislaw Jedrzejewski. The family would like to express a very special thank you for the care, love, and support through out the years to Dr. Alfred J. Newman, Dr. Steven Plunkett, Dr. Kara Criswell, Dr. Marshall Parsons, Dr. Charles Harr, Novant Health, and all the nurses and staff that took care of our mother. "God Saw You Getting Tired" God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered, "come to me" With tearful eyes we watched you suffer And saw you fade away and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands laid to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. -
