Andrew Farnham Johnson

  Andrew Farnham Johnson (AJ), age 43, was born June 27, 1976 in Gates Mills, Ohio. Andrew went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2020 in Matthews, NC. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Ciarra (Morrow), and his precious baby girl, Kensley Elizabeth. He leaves behind loving parents, Thomas Berry and Jane Strub Johnson, along with Andrew’s caring big brother, Thomas B. Johnson, Jr. and his aunt and uncle, Virginia and James Sasser.
To say that AJ loved sports is an understatement. He grew up attending tennis camp with his brother and cousins, and was a fan of every Cleveland sports team. He tested every golf course in Ohio (and beyond) with his dad. He became an exceptional player and teacher who could find a golfing buddy wherever he shot a round.
After getting a business degree from Miami of Ohio, he decided a good use of his education was moving to Colorado to get closer to the slopes. By doing so, he lived one of his dreams.
AJ’s easy disposition, quick commentary, and amazing laugh allowed him to make friends wherever he lived, keeping up with childhood and college friends, and golf and ski buddies alike.
In 2016, AJ married his soulmate, Ciarra Morrow. Their shared passion for Ohio sports teams and outdoor adventures, made them a perfect pair, both on the golf course and in their lives. The pure, undying love they had for each other was a beautifully cherished gift they were both grateful to experience. AJ was a man of few words who always got to the point. He proposed to Ciarra while they were en route to their adopted home of Charlotte, NC, where they built their lives and family together. He enjoyed long walks and cuddling shared with their dog, Brody. AJ’s last dream of becoming a father came true when he and Ciarra welcomed Kensley to their lives in 2017. She became the apple of his eye, the center of his universe and a true daddy’s girl. He fathered with his entire heart and soul, striving to be the absolute best he could be.
AJ was also the loyal brother-in-law to Alyssa Johnson, Dustin (Lacy) Morrow, Jarrad Morrow, Marrissa Morrow, and uncle to Ariana Morrow, Elinor Johnson, and Asher Morrow. He got into plenty of trouble with his cousins, Mary Young (Dirk), Tom Sasser (Brindusa Truta), and Amy Beck (Bill). AJ was predeceased by his grandparents, Farnham and Dorothy Johnson, and Helen and Ernest Strub.
There will be a private graveside service for family and relatives only and a celebration of life service at 3:30pm on January 20, 2020 at New City Church, 11011 Monroe Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
