Barbara Lee "Ying-Ying" Chambers

Barbara Lee Bennett Chambers "Ying-Ying" Barbara Chambers, 72, of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, May 13, 2010, following an extended battle with poor health. She was born in Raleigh and graduated from Rex School of Nursing. Barbara will be remembered by many for faithfully serving the residents of Sharon Towers for 25 years. Her immediate family includes her three children, Dr. Jay Chambers and wife, Beth, of Charlotte, Joni C. Johnson and husband, Hal, of Fuquay-Varina, and Rusty Chambers of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Andy Johnson, Holly Chambers, Grant Chambers, Ben Johnson, and Caroline Johnson. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 2PM, Monday May 17, 2010, at Carmel Presbyterian Church, 2048 Carmel Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226, where she served joyfully as elder and deacon. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Carmel Presbyterian Church.
