Brenda Romyra “Myra” Helms, 65 of Charlotte, NC passed away on September 11, 2020. She was received in heaven by her father David Helms Sr., her mother Margie Helms, and her daughter Jessie McKee (survived by husband Derek) with open arms and kisses. Myra and her mother loved to travel together and every Saturday they made sure to go to all the yard sales as an adventure of treasures. Myra was an extremely hard worker as courier and transport driver for Bankair and DHL, because she loved the challenges of every day. Myra’s is survived by her big brother David “Skip” Helms Jr. of Charlotte. She has always looked up to him and loved him dearly. She would go to him for advice on life’s many questions; when she didn’t have answers. She would spend holidays and they would spend time together at least once a week. She enjoyed spending time with her sister- in- law Kathy and two nieces Lauren and Madison. Myra is a mother of four surviving children: Renee Funderburk-twin (Michael) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christy Cubillo-twin of Myrtle Beach, SC, only son Alex Taylor (Crystal) of Waxhaw, NC, Youngest daughter Kim Davis of Charlotte, NC.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother of ten beautiful grandchildren ranging from ages 1 years to 23 years old and two furry grandchildren. Christy’s children- Jacob Laye (Emma), (MD) Emily Ekleberry (Bonham), (VA) Jessie’s child-Arizona McKee Alex’s children Cameron Taylor (NC) Ethan Taylor (NC) Kim’s children-Jason Davis Jr. “J.J.” (TN) Emmaleigha Davis (SC) Kingston Keiser (NC) Brayden Keiser (NC) Asherah Keiser “A.J.” (NC) Renee’s Furry kids- Blackberry & Stinky Boo (SC)
Myra also has a furry child, a Chiyorkie named Toby, who adored her and followed her everywhere. He was even allowed to visit Myra in the hospital. Myra will be missed, but always loved in our hearts.
