Bruno John (Frank) DiPietro, born on May 30, 1934, peacefully left this earth on August 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Biagio, mother, Teresa, brothers Anthony, Nicholas, and Oreste, and grandson, Jonathan DiPietro. Mr. DiPietro was a charismatic, friendly man that spread happiness and built friendships with everyone that he met, in every walk of life. As a charter member of the Christopher Columbus Club of the Carolinas and member of the Italian Heritage Society, he had a deep appreciation for his heritage. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and supported veterans' and childrens' associations. Frank was devoted to his family and greatly enjoyed football, playing cards with his buddies and visiting with his friends at Publix. Frank was an enthusiastic member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for 35 years. He first joined Charlotte-Mecklenburg Lodge #2631 and later transferred to Charlotte Lodge #392 where he ran their BINGO operation for almost 20 years and raised tens of thousands of dollars to support various Elk charities. He was awarded Life Membership in 2013 and was often heard to say, "I just wish I found this organization earlier!". The highlight of Frank's life was his treasured family.
