Surrounded by loving family, Lucinda Gibson Russo, 67, passed away Saturday morning, April 30, 2016, at Novant Health-Matthews. She had been struggling with pulmonary fibrosis for the past two years. Lucinda loved her nickname CJ. She was born in Audubon New Jersey on October 9, 1948, and graduated from Farmingdale High School on Long Island. After moving to Charlotte, NC in 1984, she worked her way up the ladder at UNC Charlotte's Registrars Office, eventually becoming senior assistant registrar. She retired in 2013. CJ loved to cook, read, take family trips to Kiawah, and spend time with her grandchildren Emily, Adeline, and Porter. Her immediate family includes her husband Ben, daughter Lorena, son Darren and his wife, Danielle, and grandchildren, Emily, Adeline, and Porter. She will be deeply missed.
