Carl John Stybe, 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was born September 5, 1930, in Yonkers, New York, and was the son of the late Charles Johann Stybe and Nellie Browne Stybe. Dad was a loving thoughtful man who cherished his wife and adored his children. He worked tirelessly to be able to support his children's' future educations to better enable them to have truly fulfilling lives. His immediate family includes his two children, Karl Stybe and his wife, Robin, and Kristen Gribbon and her husband, Kevin. He also adored his grandchildren Kristopher, Kyle, Kelly, Connor and Brenna as well as his great granddaughters Chloe and Addie. He was a patriotic American and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of an artillery battery. Dad worked as a cable splicer and a project engineer in telecommunications for over 33 years. He was well respected in his field and proud yet humble about his accomplishments. Dad was one of the rare people who never met a stranger. He was quick with a smile and his curiosity about others endeared him to many. He was deeply loved by neighbors and colleagues and left lasting impressions on all those that he met. He is truly missed by all those that were fortunate enough to have known him. I recently told a dear friend that Dad made the world a brighter place during his time here and he will never be forgotten. - -
