Carol Dean Pridgen, 63, of Indian Trail, went to be with the Lord, July 5, 2014, while in the care of the staff of the Harris Hospice Unit of Novant Health Care. He is preceded in death by his father, Christopher Jack Pridgen, Jr., and his brother, Anthony Wayne Pridgen. Carol was born in Charlotte, was a 1968 graduate of Garinger High School, and attended Piedmont Community College. He served six years in the US Army Reserves. Though his career centered on industrial sales, he was a truly gifted mechanic. He was an avid automobile enthusiast and hobbyist. For over 20 years he built and drove gas dragsters. He was a fantastic shag dancer, loved the beach, and loved his family and friends. His immediate family includes his loving companion, Cathey K. Nordman, and her son, Jeffrey Nordman; his mother, Ervileen Pridgen, of Charlotte; his daughter, Cynthia Diane Pridgen; brothers, Christopher J. (Chris) Pridgen, III, of Charlotte, and Thomas Meredith Pridgen of Deland, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Midwood Baptist Church or Novant Health Hospice, www.novanthealth.org. -
