Carolyn Constance Coffey Morgan, 89 received her Freedom from this world on July 4, 2023. She is celebrating with Jesus now and had been praying often for Jesus to take her Home.
Carol was born in Roseborough, Avery County North Carolina to the late John Sherman and Buena Vista Coffey. The youngest of 14 children born at home.
After moving from her very rural mountain homeplace, she moved to Charlotte where she attended Kings College and started her career that included as a secretary at Johnson Motor Lines and then on to Teamsters Union Local 71 as insurance secretary for 25+ years.
Carol was committed to all her family reunions, celebrations, and dinners. For many years she served as church messenger at Hopewell Baptist Church and was also very active with Dave at all church seniors functions, activities, and travels. Both of them participated in Veterans of Foreign Wars gatherings.
She enjoyed cooking, (yumm), baking, gardening, sewing, coloring, crafting, and loving on her grandchildren. All of these she was most perfectly fit for and successful at!
Carol is survived by one sister, Lorraine Coffey Corley and her husband of 28 years David Lewis Morgan. Her son John Stanley and Karen Thomas Pierczynski, her daughter Constance Ruth Ashley, her five grandchildren, Shane, Heather, Jessica, Josh, and Joseph, along with eight granddaughters, Courtney, Alexis, Haleigh, Shelley, Ava, Katelyn, Bahia and Abby.
