Charles Edward "Chuck" Smith

Charles (Chuck) Edward Smith, 66, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born in Bronx, New York, on October 18, 1951, to Charles and Lucille Smith. Chuck attended Johnson C. Smith University and withdrew to pursue his passion in television production. He began his career as a commercial producer director at WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, moving to KDKA TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then WGHP in Highpoint, North Carolina. Chuck retired following a tenure with WJZY in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chuck will be remembered for his genuine love of the Lord and desire to work with people. He loved being involved at Central Church and used his talents to serve with the production team. He was such a very kind and calm mannered man who enjoyed listing to jazz music. His immediate family includes his beloved wife, Yvonne Smith; Children, Chameeka Smith, Collin Smith, Anthony Smith and his wife, Ayesha, and their children, Rhema and Zoe Smith. His brother and sister in law Oscar and Sylvia Spaulding. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation center for their genuine care for Chuck.
