Chuck Koch

Chuck was born March 13, 1942 to Nelson and Beatrice (Shaw) Koch. He was raised in Flint, Michigan with his older sister Gretchen. Chuck was a gifted athlete and avid sportsman, excelling especially in Golf, Tennis and Swimming. He attended Bethany College in West Virginia, graduating with a degree in Economics and Finance with a minor in Archaeology. Chuck worked for Coca-Cola and Campbell Soup before beginning his distinguished career with McDonalds Corporation in 1979. He spent many years with McDonalds, living in Ohio, California and Illinois. Through his work he was able to travel all 50 states and many countries around the world. After retirement Chuck moved to Charlotte North Carolina to open an ice cream franchise and enjoy time with his family. Chuck was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with a love for service and studying the scriptures. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, fishing and making meaningful memories with his Children and grandchildren. His favorite places included Hawaii, Civil War Battlefields, and Nags Head on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Chuck was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit and ability to make all those around him laugh. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and granddaughter, Jillian McBride. He is survived by his loving wife Linda(Wallace) Koch, his sons Todd (Katie) Koch of Stowe, OH, Tom (Kathleen)Koch of Charlotte NC , Pat Koch of Newberry SC , daughter Sarah (Charles) McBride of Matthews NC and his sister Gretchen Walther of Dayton Ohio. Chuck is the beloved grandfather of Matt and Zach Koch of Stowe OH, Ben and Rebecca Koch of Charlotte NC, Alecia and Emme Koch of Chapin SC and Peter and Finn McBride of Matthews NC.
