Cornelia G. Robinson

Cornelia Robinson, daughter of the late Donald Watkins Graham and Nancy Watts Graham of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord April 18, 2015. Cornelia attended Charlotte schools, graduating from Myers Park High School in 1960 and Queens College in 1964. Cornelia married Steve on December 29, 1964. They moved around in the textile world, living in SC, NC, and GA. The Lord called Cornelia and Steve into His ministry in 1981, and they prepared for a world missions ministry at Columbia International University in Columbia, SC. The Lord trained her further as she helped Steve pastor East Belmont Presbyterian Church in Belmont, NC. In 1997, Steve and Cornelia founded Exciting Word Ministries, a mission agency to take the good news of Jesus Christ through indigenousness missionaries to thousands of unreached villages in North India. Because of the Lord's grace and provision, the harvest has been greater than they ever dreamed or imagined. Cornelia fought a significant battle with ovarian cancer since 2006. But God's grace was always sufficient to allow her to help with Exciting Word, to pray for revival in Charlotte, to enjoy her grandchildren, and to spend time with her dear close friends. Many of her friends were life-long friends from grammar school to church friends to overseas mission friends to cancer support friends. God blessed her with many dear relationships for His glory. In addition her husband, Steve, she is survived by her children, Stephen Graham Robinson (Marsie) and William Alexander Robinson (Katie); and by grandchildren Rachel Reade Robinson, Paige Elisabeth Robinson, Ellen Watts Robinson, William Cranford Robinson (Will), and William McKethan Robinson (Mac), all of Charlotte. She is also survived by her nephew John Cornelius Markey. Memorials may be sent to St. Giles Presbyterian Missions or to Exciting Word Ministries. - -
