Daniel Curtis Collins, 78, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2014. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 11, 1936, a son of the late Roy Elmer Collins and Jewell Sheriff Collins. Mr. Collins graduated from Tech. High School in 1954 and attended Charlotte College. He married Rachel Ella Collins in 1960. After serving as Chaplain's Assistant in the U.S. Air Force, he worked for 36 years with the U.S. Postal Service and was a Church of God Minister and Visitation Pastor at Crosspoint Worship Center. He was a former member of Eastway Church of God and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Rachel Ella Collins of Monroe; his children Kimberly Hobbs, and husband Theron, Sr. of Charlotte; Stephen Collins, and wife Kimberly of Monroe; grandchildren Theron, Jr., Tanner and Keira, sisters; Edith Wingo of Mt. Pleasant, Faith Ruby of Ohio, Patricia Black of Charlotte, brothers, Michael Collins and wife Yoshi of Charlotte, and Patrick Collins and wife Marie of Alabama. .
