Deborah Ann Thompson

December 17, 1945 — June 30, 2021

Deborah Ann Thompson 12/17/1945 – 6/30/2021 Deborah “Debbie” Thompson passed away peacefully on June 30th 2021 at age 75. She is preceded by her parents Leo and Ruth Dierks, her brother Paul, and sisters Barbara and Mary Jane. And survived by sister Dee, brother Jim, sons Erik and Brian, and grandchildren Joshua and Aurora. Debbie was born in Lowell, Indiana and lived in several locations throughout the country before settling in Miami Florida in her teens. She graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1963 and married shortly after. They bought a home in Hollywood, Florida where they welcomed their 2 sons. After divorcing, Debbie made several sacrifices as a single mother to ensure her children had the best possible life. In 1979, Debbie found work at American Bank of Hollywood as a bookkeeper. She made most of her friends and acquaintances throughout her 19 year career at the bank and loved her job. She loved participating in picnics, battle of the bank events, and annual Christmas parties with her children. After leaving ABH due to a merger, she found work with Broward County. After almost 10 years with the county Debbie retired and relocated to Cornelius, North Carolina to be closer to her grandchildren. She adored her daughter-in-law Wency and her 2 grandchildren spending time on holidays and various outings with them. Debbie lived a very quiet life and chose to keep to herself. She spent most of her time at home reading and watching her favorite game shows, Jeopardy and The Price is Right. In respect of her privacy there will be no viewing or services held for her.
