Debra Sue Erickson-Hamilton, affectionately known as Debbie, was born on December 6, 1958, in Morgantown, West Virginia. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 17, 2024, in Matthews, North Carolina. Debra’s spirit will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know her.
Debbie was a radiant soul, beloved by all who crossed her path. Her remarkable kindness, generous heart, and infectious humor drew people in and created bonds that lasted a lifetime. She had an extraordinary ability to light up a room, sharing laughter and joy with everyone around her. Memories of time spent in her warm company will be treasured dearly.
Family was everything to Debbie, and she thrived on being surrounded by her loved ones. She delighted in the company of her children, Valerie Babajko, William Davis, and Travis Davis, always providing unwavering support and encouragement. As a devoted mother, Debbie instilled in her children the values of love and compassion that she embodied throughout her life.
Her legacy as a grandmother is equally profound; she cherished moments spent with her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, filling their lives with warmth and joy. The laughter they shared and the memories they created together will serve as a lasting testament to her nurturing spirit.
Debbie is also survived by her life partner, Michael Troesken, and her sister, Donna Hamilton, who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She was a loving aunt to her niece and nephew, extending her affection and guidance to them as well.
Though saddened by her passing, her family finds solace in knowing that she departed this world hand-in-hand with her daughter Valerie, who lovingly held her hand as she transitioned to be with Jesus. Debbie is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Delphia Hamilton; father, Glenn Hamilton; and sister, Diane Hamilton.
As we reflect on the rich tapestry of Debbie’s life, we remember a woman who loved deeply, laughed heartily, and gave freely. While she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to inspire, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
