Devin graduated from Clinton Senior High School in Clinton, NY in 1987 and attended Bard College for two years before transferring and graduating from the school of Aerospace Sciences at the University North Dakota.
Devin returned to college to pursue his Master’s while living in Memphis with his first wife and daughter Kathryn. While in Memphis, he diligently worked toward his degree where he was he teaching and coaching. As his personal life changed during these years, he left teaching and returned to pursue a career in what he was passionate about - his love of flying.
He continued his career as a commercial airline pilot which began in 1998 until neurodegenerative challenges surfaced and limited his abilities.
Devin married his loving wife, Claudia in December 2003. In June of 2005, God blessed Devin and Claudia with a miracle, the gift of a child as they welcomed Sophia Alexandra into the world. Devin had a huge heart and love for both of his girls. He spent his days off enjoying being a Husband and Dad and always met the extraordinary challenges with a grain of sugar to remain involved in his oldest daughters‘ life.
Summer vacations up North and trips to Europe fulfilled his love of traveling and flying the friendly skies. Loving the outdoors, Devin enjoyed hiking, biking and had a passion for running . Running, was in fact, how he and Claudia met. After marriage, they made Charlotte their home for the last 21 years.
Along with being a Sports enthusiast, Devin loved music and playing the guitar.
His love for people, family and friends was contagious. Always smiling and living with a heart for God, he was quick to help a friend or stranger in need.
As he was robbed of his life and time with his wife and youngest daughter by unforeseen circumstances, Devin‘s spirit will live in our hearts forever as we carry him with us wherever we go. A spirit of hope, faith and Love taken too soon yet forever remembered, until we see you again.
