Don L. Church

Donald LeRoy "Don" Church, 70, of Matthews, passed away, while surrounded by his loving and caring family, Sunday, April 22, 2012. Don was born in Hillsdale County, Michigan, and following high school, attended and graduated from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana, with a degree in civil engineering. In 1974, he moved his family to the Charlotte area, and in 2004, retired as Regional Manager with the company that not only gave him his first full-time job opportunity, but the same company that he had remained with his entire career-Jervis B. Webb. Don's immediate family includes his high school sweetheart that became his loving and devoted wife for 51 years, Lanette Y. Church; their children, Kimberly Church Lemons, and her husband, Todd, Pamala Kaye Church, and her partner, Brian Johnson, and Wendy Church Bridges, and her husband, Daryl; his sister, Judith Smith; his brother, Gary Church, and his wife, Barb; and Don's grandchildren, Joshua Lange, Sierra Lange, Dylan Lange, Michelle Lemons, Lauren Bridges, Jackson Bridges, and Grant Bridges. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28233-3549. -
