Dora Jean Weaver-Orr

September 18, 1948 — March 5, 2024

Dora Weaver-Orr, 75, of Fairview, North Carolina, received her new body in Christ on March 5, 2024 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.
Dora was born on September 18, 1948 to Travis and Christine Grimes in Sampson county, North Carolina. She was salutatorian in her class at Hobbton High School before moving on to graduate from Campbell University, but always said she would have attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill had they accepted women at the time. She was a diehard fan of the Tar Heels. She began her career in 1982 excelling in a time when is was harder for women to advance in business. Dora repeatedly rose to top performer in sales and sales management where she would become vice president at several companies including Rogers American inc, and Anchor Sales and Marketing inc. over her 42 year career, making many long lasting friends and associates along the way.
She was always a high energy, strong, and determined woman who could be seen running three to five miles each day along local roads. She loved her family more than anything. Some of her favorite activities including anything related to her grandkids, shopping, and decorating her home. She was a classy and sophisticated woman who could always been depended on for help or give encouraging words. She told her grandchildren that they were her sunshine and now she will be that bright light to shine on them.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Orr; sister, Helen Hobbs; sons, Chris Weaver and Scott Weaver; daughter-in-law, Dr. Corinne Weaver; and six grandchildren, Austin, Ashlyn, John, Noah, Cora, and Sara.
