Mrs. Dorothy Creech Mullis, 92, Monroe, went to her heavenly home on April 23, 2018. Dot will be sorely missed in her role as matriarch to her immediate family and by her extended family and friends. We the family, take comfort in her commitment to the Lord and knowing we will be reunited with her in His timing. Dot was born to Robert and Rosa Creech in 1925 at Charlotte, NC. The family lived in several NC and SC communities. She enjoyed life with her Mom and Dad along with her 10 siblings as she has shared stories of this time with us. She married Paul Mullis shortly after WWII and they raised their two children in Charlotte and Matthews NC. Dot worked with Harris, Colonial and Big Star Grocery Stores. She was a strong and independent woman. Mom gave her children many good memories providing for fun and family at home, church and the many trips we took to the beach, mountains, and extended family homes. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Mullis, and her beloved daughter, Jan Mullis. She is survived by her son, Gary Mullis (Collette) and sister, Virginia Yates of Lincolnton, by her Grandchildren, Jeffery Craven(Susan), Karen Mullis Kent(Patrick), Kimberly Pope (Troy), and Jason Mullis (Tracy). Granny Dot is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Cross Roads Baptist Church, Golden Acres Baptist Church, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and The Wounded Warrior Project. The family will receive friends at 11:00AM Friday, April 27, 2018, at Golden Acres Baptist Church with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12:00 Noon. A Graveside service will follow at 2:30PM at Cross Roads Baptist Church, 4963 Cross Roads Baptist Church Rd., Ruby, South Carolina 29741. Mrs. Mullis went to live with her granddaughter, Kimberly, Husband, Troy and great grandsons, Jacob and Kaleb a few years ago. The Family wishes to acknowledge their love, care and service to Granny Dot. Mom thrived in their care. Additionally, the family wishes to acknowledge the love and care extended to Granny Dot by her granddaughter, Karen Kent. She was very supportive of her Granny Dot and worked with Kimberly to assure Granny's needs were met with love and kindness. The family also wishes to thank the Novant Matthew's 3rd floor, Critical Care Unit staff and Dr. Delgado for their service and care to Mrs. Mullis and her family. To all, we wish you to live, love and laugh, in the freedom and assurance of our Lord, Christ Jesus. Dot sure did. -
