Edna Deese Harris

September 2, 1922 — July 11, 2012

Edna Lee Deese Harris, 89, of Charlotte, passed away July 11, 2012. Edna was born in Kershaw, South Carolina, to the late James Manley Deese and Lillie May Small Deese. She was married 64 years to the love of her life, Harry M. (Buddy) Harris, Sr., before he passed away on June 24, 2012. They gave each other true love and companionship. She was loved by so many friends through her bridge club and the Oasis Shrine Patrol. She was a very special wife, mother, mother-in-law, and loving grandmother. Her immediate family includes her son, Harry (Buddy) Harris, Jr. and his wife, Gay; daughter, Cathy Johnston; grandchildren, Buddy Harris, III and his wife, Abigail, Cameron Allen and husband, Woody , Trent Johnston and wife, Casey, and Travis Johnston and wife, April; and her great grandchildren, Woody and Gaylen Allen, Pearl and Liberty Harris, and Noah Johnston. The family would like to thank everyone with Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care, and especially the caregivers of SeniorBridge, Tiffany, Janette, Renesha, and a special thanks to Brenda Taylor, who has been the caregiver and loving friend of Edna and Buddy, Sr. for many years. -
