Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Ryan, 84, of The Laurels in Pineville, passed away Friday morning, September 23, 2011. Betty was raised in Silver Beach, New York, and spent most of her life in Plainville, Connecticut. Her father, Daniel James Ryan, was a restaurant owner and her mother, Mabel Finnegan Ryan, was a homemaker. She had one brother, William Ryan, and he was her hero having served in the Korean War. Betty was employed at the Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, and retired after 45 years of service. She loved showing her best side, wearing pretty dresses and jewelry for all occasions, even for staying in. Betty most loved getting together with friends and family and dancing to her favorite music; especially in holiday shows where she had the run of the floor. She never married, but enjoyed being single equally as much as she did match-making(thanks Betty for your help- Kelly). The last five years of her life was spent in North Carolina. She loved the warm weather, and the holidays and birthdays spent with her family. Betty's thoughtfulness, generosity, and joy made everyone she met smile. She will be missed by her immediate family, a niece,Kelly Curcio, and her husband, Tony; nephews, Timothy, Daniel, James, and Michael Ryan. -
