Ginny Grenda, 53, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, after a well fought battle with neuroendocrine cancer. As much as our hearts ache here, we are rejoicing that she is wrapped in the arms of Jesus and free of pain. Her faith was steadfast and an inspiration to those around her. She was a true light for Christ.
Ginny was born to James and Linda Stroupe in Raleigh, NC. After moving from Raleigh, to Greenville, SC, to Charlotte, Ginny graduated high school at South Mecklenburg High School. She went on to study at East Carolina, UNC Charlotte, and then Queens University of Charlotte, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She worked as an ICU RN, Labor & Delivery RN, Home Health Nurse, and most recently, a nurse educator. Ginny loved nothing more than spending time with family, spending time with Jesus and diving into his Word, enjoying week vacations to Litchfield Beach, working as a nurse, and celebrating milestones with a "margarita all up in her face," as she liked to say.
Ginny was predeceased by her father, James "Jimmy" Stroupe. She is survived by her husband, Michael Grenda, children Hannah Massey, Matthew Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, step-daughter Sophia Bisher, sister Lorie Kimes, brother Scott Stroupe, and mother Linda Stroupe.
