Grace Aman Gooden, 88, went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Grace was born November 29, 1929 in Mingo, Sampson County, NC, the daughter of Eddie Aman and Vida Naylor. In 1950, Grace married the love of her life, Warren James Gooden whom she is survived by, as well as her beloved children, Eddie Warren (Marty) of Greer, SC and Janet (Rob) Kendall of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Shannon (Jordan) Davidson, and Kimberly (Troy) Jordana of Tallahassee, FL and Andrew and Elizabeth Kendall of Charlotte, NC whom she dearly loved. Born the 12th of 13 children, Grace was raised on a farm in Mingo, NC. She is survived by her sister Dale Jackson. She met Warren at Business School in Raleigh, NC. Grace was well known as an excellent seamstress and cook and loved preparing meals for her family and friends. Grace had an unwavering faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a child she was a member of Mingo Baptist Church and as life went on she was a faithful member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC, Spillman Memorial Baptist Church of Kinston, NC, First Baptist Church of Tucker, GA, Parkwood Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL, University Baptist Church of Coral Gables, FL, First Baptist Church of Cary, NC and lastly Calvary Church of Charlotte, NC. She was very involved in each of her churches and spent countless hours in volunteer work over her lifetime. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27th at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive guests in the Rae Room starting at 11am with the service following in the Chapel at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Church Missions at the above listed address. -
