Irandokht Labib Anvar

Irandokht Labib Anwar, affectionately known as Dokhi, was born on February 18, 1935, in Iran. She departed this life on December 17, 2024, in Mint Hill, North Carolina.

Dokhi was a pillar of love and compassion, deeply devoted to her family and her faith as a cherished Baha'i. Her unwavering love for her husband, Parvis Anwar, her daughters Kereshmeh Odulate and Roya Campbell, and her family shone brightly throughout her life. She is also survived by her grandson, Shidaun Campbell, her daughter-in-law, Soumayah Nanji, and her sons-in-law, Dell Campbell and Akin Odulate. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved sisters Monireh Lanzaro and Lili Labib, and brother Firuz Labib and many nieces and nephews.

Dokhi was also very fond of her grand dog Gabby that she affectionately called "Goleh Piazzi" which means onion flower in Farsi.

Dokhi was a well recognized and successful Avon lady for 20 plus years and has multiple awards from the company.

She was a dedicated community member, serving for many years on the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Florence, Alabama. Dokhi’s commitment to the Baha'i faith was evident not only in her service but also in her upbringing. Her father, Mr. Mohammad Labib, was a Baha'i historian and writer who made significant contributions as a pioneer in Greece and Japan, while her mother, Shoghieh, hosted regular Baha'i gatherings at their home, instilling in Dokhi the values of community and spirituality.

Dokhi was known for her loving, devoted, courteous, and respectful nature. She possessed the patience that drew people to her warmth and kindness. In her youth, she enjoyed playing the santour , lived music and had a passion for ballroom dancing alongside her husband, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Her family and friends fondly remember their times spent together, which were filled with laughter, love, and joy. Her legacy will continue to live on through those she touched with her spirit and kindness.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on December 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM, located at Forest Lawn East, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Weddington, NC 28104.

She will be placed to rest next to her loved sister Mehrangiz Labib Molin.

Dokhi’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and spiritual commitment, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
