Dr. Mike Arnette went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22nd 2020. He felt called into the ministry at the young age of 18 and went on to become the Pastor of 11 churches throughout the Southeastern region of the United States. Mike earned his bachelor’s of Biblical Education from Columbia International University, his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Doctorate of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary. He has faithfully served as beloved Pastor for over 43 years. He loved his church family dearly and compassionately and always felt it a privilege and a joy to pastor the flock.
During that time, he also served as professor at Carolina Bible College and Trinity College of Florida over a period of 25 years and later served as Academic Dean at Carolina Bible College. Along with his fellow educators, he came to love and care for the men and women at the school and those in Christian ministry. He prayed fervently for all of them as well as those on the mission field and our country’s leaders.
For those who knew him, reading books was another passion. With a large library of old and new commentaries, he was always willing to loan or share his precious books.
But greater than his passion for reading, was his passion for reaching those who did not know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He yearned to plant churches in other countries and teach pastors the word of God so that they might share God’s promises and truths in their native languages.
Mike is survived by his wife Crae, after 53 loving years together, his sons James (Andrea) and Andy (Amy-Beth), and daughter Christy (Trey Daugherty); and 8 grandchildren: Avery, Joshua, Avonlea, Ashley, Annie, Jeremy, Amelia and Colin. Mike experienced immense love, joy and laughter with his family and considered himself a man most blessed in this regard.
