Jan Gravley Billingsley, 56, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, August 29, 2010, at home while under the loving care of her devoted husband, Paul. Jan was born in Greenville, SC, and was the daughter of the late Winfred W. Gravely and Mary Phillips Gravley. Following high school, she graduated, from Lander University in Greenwood, SC. For 20 years, Jan was a supervisor in the Juvenile Justice System in Greenville, specifically probation and parole. She also worked as a consultant for Walk Through The Bible Ministries, Atlanta, GA. Having great love for people and conversation, she made friends easily. However, most importantly, Jan was a woman of faith. Her spiritual relationship with Christ was foremost. Jan's immediate family, in addition to her husband of 23 years, Dr. Paul Billingsley, includes her sister, Martha Gravley Epton, and her husband, Steven, of Seneca, SC; two brothers, Jack Gravley and his wife, Jean, of Waterloo, SC, and John Gravley and his wife, Janine, of Olathe, KS. The family requests that floral arrangements in the Charlotte area be sent directly to Carmel Baptist Church beginning at 8:30 Am Wednesday only and arrangements in the Greenville, SC area be sent directly to Woodlawn Memorial Park by 3:00PM Wednesday afternoon.
