Jean Harris Crocker, 84, of Charlotte, went to Heaven Tuesday, March 1, 2016, following a five year battle with cancer. Jean was born in Concord, NC, and was the daughter of the late J. F. Harris, Jr. and Blanche Henson Harris. Her father's family had been instrumental in the founding of Harrisburg. Following a sixteen year career in the accounting office at WBTV during the 1960's and 70's, she volunteered in the business office of Crisis Assistance. Jean remained there for years as an active presence with the organization she proudly considered "uplifting". In recent years, Jean enjoyed trips to the beach with family and friends and also spending time with those close to her. The past seven years she had made her home with her son, Mike, following the passing of her dear husband, Bob, in 2008. Jean's immediate family includes her son, Mike Hopkins and his wife, Randy, four grandchildren, Heather Case and her husband, Joshua, Alana White and her husband, Jeremy, James Hopkins, Jr., and Jonathan Hopkins; four great grandchildren, Isabella and Benjamin Case, and Eva and Elijah White. *In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jean's name to Crisis Assistance, 200-A Spratt St. Charlotte, NC 28206. -
