Jimmy Dey

James Patrick Dey of Waxhaw, N.C., passed on to be with his heavenly Father Thursday, April 18, 2013. Jimmy was 56 years old. He was born in Baltimore, MD, to his late mother Mary Constance and father Thomas E. Dey. His father remarried Mary Ann Monaghan of Cambridge, MD, May 4th 1963. Jimmy's passion for motorcycles was also his career as a master motorcycle mechanic. He also served 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a jet helicopter mechanic. Most of all, Jimmy loved people and had many treasured friendships from every facet of his life. He is survived by his parents Thomas and Mary Ann Dey, brothers Thomas (Cathie), Robert (Lynn), Michael (Angie), Stephen (Jessica), and sisters Mary McGarvey, and Kathleen Griffith (Parks). Jimmy was blessed with 13 nephews and nieces and cherished the special relationships he developed with each of them. His mother predeceased him in September 1959. *In lieu of flowers; the family has asked that friends make a donation to the Humane Society of Union County. -
