John Roger Hall III, 53 passed away on Tuesday
November 21, 2023. While in the care of Hospice of Novant Presbyterian Main. He died of complication resulting from the Gulf War Syndrome (deterioration liver failure) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
He served in the US Army with the 101St Airbourne. He was a gunner assigned to the black hawk helicopters flying protection at night for forward operation location during the buildup for Desert Storm.
His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars., and the Army Service Ribbon. He also earned the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) Air assault Badge Marksmanship for the M - 16 rifle, and expert badge for hand grenade.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah Loree Hall of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Savannah Marie Hall, of Gastonia, NC. His parents, Judy Helms Fall (David) if Mint Hill, NC and his father Retired James R. Hall, USAF (Joy) of Huntsville, AL. and nephew Austin R. Hall, (Summer) and their son, James D. Hall of Yorktown, VA, He was proceeded in death by his half-brother, James Le Hall, US Army.
In lieu of flowers, John requested to please donate to the Saint Jude Children Hospital.
