Joseph J. Ackerman

Joseph Julian "Joe" Ackerman, 72, of Indian Trail,North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 15, 2014. Born in Anson County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Cecil Thomas Ackerman and Mary Elizabeth Coley Ackerman. After graduating from Wadesboro High School, Joe followed a career in building and for many years was self-employed as a general contractor in residential and commercial construction in the Charlotte area. Joe was an avid gardener, when he took the time; however, his true passion was helping others. He was a very generous man and always had a positive outlook on life. His immediate family includes his children Charles Thomas Ackerman, Judy A. Radcliff, Julian Scott Ackerman, Joey Ackerman, and Angela Suzanne Ackerman; siblings Charles Thomas Ackerman ( Anne), Risden C. Ackerman (Cristy), Margie A. Tice, Grady Kenneth Ackerman (Rita), Cedy A. Pool (Larry), Joan Rebecca Ackerman, and Sharon A. Honeycutt (Steve); twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. -
