Judy Rhodes

Jewel Gwendolyn "Judy" Rhodes, 81, of Waxhaw, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 30, 2015. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Pennington Lemmond. Family was the center of Judy's life, and she made sure that everyone knew that. Actually, she was not only known by her grandchildren as " Nanny", but by the whole family. She loved Gospel and Bluegrass music and she and her late husband, Ronnie, in years past used to sing together often for family and friends. A little known fact about Judy in her younger days, she was a horseshoe champion in Beckley, WVA. A proud member of Love Baptist Church, she will be missed for her faithfulness prior to her recent extended illness. Her family includes her children, James L. Pennington (Delores), Gary D. Pennington (Sylvia), Lloyd Pennington (Dana) and Karen R. Keziah (Rodney); 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. * Florist- please take arrangements directly to Love Baptist Church Monday morning by 9:00AM. -
