June Ennis Gardner, 91, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on New Year's morning, January 1, 2014. Born and raised in Green County, KY, June was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Vera Ennis. June attended Bowling Green College where she met her husband, Edwin Ray Gardner. After WWII, they wed and were married for 61 years until Ray's passing in 2006. A devoted wife and mother, June was involved in many community and school organizations, served as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and for many years created and sewed ministry garments for The Resurrection Dance Ministry. She also painted, wrote poetry and took up tap dancing in her 70s. June loved the Lord and she loved life! June resided at Aldersgate Retirement Community for the last seven years where she was surrounded by loving caregivers and known for her smile and kindness to others. June is survived by her son, Stephen Gardner, M.D. and daughter-in-law Leslie Padgett Gardner of Greenville, SC, her daughter, Teresa Gardner, D.W.S. of Charlotte, two grandchildren - Galen Gardner (Julie) and Jonathan Gardner, and three great grand children - Gracie, Philip and Ansley Gardner. -
