Katherine Calhoun Wellons

- Katherine Calhoun Wellons, age 36, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday July 23, 2012. Born March 21, 1976 in Macon, Georgia, she was the daughter of Michael E. Wellons and Edna M. Wellons. In addition to her parents, her immediate family includes her brother, Michael Wellons, Jr. and wife Robin of Tampa, Florida and her sister, Elizabeth Wellons of New York, NY. She leaves behind a wonderful group of friends that she treasured dearly in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, England, and in Chicago, IL, Ashville and Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA and Portland, OR. Katherine is a graduate of Oxford Brooks University in Oxford, England. She received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Business Administration/Management. She was employed as Senior Account Executive with Dow Chemicals while residing in Chicago and previously in Portland, OR, Los Angeles, CA and Charlotte, NC while employed with other companies in the footwear and seamless action wear textile manufacturing and equipment industries. She was an accomplished equestrian having been a resident student for one year under the instruction of the great Lars Sederholm at the Waterstock House Training Centre near Oxford, England. She was previously a member of the North Cotswold Hunt in Broadway, Worcester, England as well as the Midland Hounds in Columbus, GA. Katherine returned to Charlotte and was a member of Carmel Baptist Church. Her family wishes to express its thanks to the Emergency Room Team at CMC Pineville and the amazing 911 crew that worked so hard and in particular to John Hall, M.D. and Elizabeth Blalock, LCSW. -
