Kenneth Wayne Perry, 71 of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving sister Anne, his friends and family.
He was born in Statesville, NC April 7, 1950. Kenny graduated from Glade Valley High School in 1968, then joined the Navy and was married shortly after. In 1970, the highlight of his life was born, his daughter, Jennifer. He worked in construction as a remodeler throughout his life, with his best friend, Richard McCoy.
His love for his family and friends exceeded comprehension and is what he lived for. Kenny was the life of the party always telling stories from his past, with his animated antics that kept everyone laughing until they cried. Kenny had a great love for Lake Norman, so much, he often lived on the lake on his house boat. He had a great passion for music and history. Kenny will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
He is predeceased by his mother, Geraldine Connelly Perry and his father, “L.C.” Perry; Dixie Perry (step mother ); Cara Leigh McCarthy (granddaughter); Judge Avery Perry and Bessie Cavin Perry (grandparents), whom he adored and had everlasting childhood memories with.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Scott) McCarthy; granddaughters, Courtney and Jenna McCarthy; great grandchildren, Aiden and Blake; sisters, Anne Reed of Charlotte, NC; Cathy Mork and Jarl Mork (brother in law); nieces, Lauren and Kristen (Brian); great nieces, Olivia and Fiona; and many more cousins, nieces and nephews and life long friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice and to the VA Senior Helpers for all their support and care.
