Kimberly Leigh Wells

Kimberly Leigh Wells, 50, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Kimberly was born May 15, 1965 in Charlotte, daughter to the late Alton and Cloris Revels Wells. She was a 1983 graduate of Garinger High School. She played softball and basketball for many years with the Winterfield Booster Club, Third Presbyterian Church and Eastway Junior High. Kim worked many years in the retail business. She had a huge giving heart and love for others. Kim always put others before herself. She was known in her community to reach out to folks through opening her door and providing a hot meal and a safe place to stay. Her personality and laughter was contagious and could light up a room. She enjoyed having a good time and making others laugh. 

Kim was a dedicated member of Connections; an Assurance United Methodist Church faith community located in Charlotte. Kim supported the launch of the church in July 2012 and was committed to a variety of children, youth and outreach ministries. She was instrumental in starting a Sunday evening ministry that provided a community meal along with a safe environment for children and youth alike to experience the love of God. Kim participated in "Love in the Bag Ministry" a program that provided bag lunches to children in the community during the summer months. Additionally, Kim attended bible study on a regular basis and supported the worship service as part of the hospitality team. The impact of Kim's involvement can be experienced each and every time a child comes to the church and recognizes the transforming power of God's love. Kimberly was predeceased by her parents Alton and Cloris. She is survived by her brother Ken, his wife Leigh and their children Kaleigh and Zack, sister, Janet Parris-Gray and her daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Shane Martin and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Death and Resurrection Service will be held, Saturday, March 19, 2016, 4:00 p.m. at Assurance United Methodist Church - Connections Campus 6729 Old Mt. Holly Road Charlotte, NC 28214. Family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Missions and Outreach c/o Connections 6729 Old Mt. Holly Road Charlotte, NC 28214. 

A graveside service will be held April 9, 2016, 1:00 p.m. Revels Family Cemetery, Pembroke, NC. - -
