Knox Robert "Bill" Carraway, Jr.,86, of Charlotte, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, February 19, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Knox Robert Carraway, Sr. and Effie McCarnahan Carraway; an infant son, Robert "Little Robert" Carraway; his sister, Ada Guiney; and his son in law, Paul Crosby, Sr. Bill was born in Charlotte April 30, 1930, and was a graduate of Derita High School. During the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Army. He was an accomplished corporate pilot and instructor. During their later years, he and his wife flew a small Cessna 172 all over the United States and parts of Mexico. He loved to travel and they made many wonderful memories. Bill also constructed and operated a senior's mobile home park for years and sold it when he retired in 2002. He loved to read the newspaper and watch western movies on television. The old hymns had a special place in his heart which surely had to be instrumental in his genuine love for people, especially little children, and the Native American Navajo Nation. His immediate family includes his wife of forty years, Jolyn Carraway; children,Cathy Carraway and her husband, Jeff Caudle, Lennee McGowan and her best friend forever, Connie Jacobs, Pamela Crosby, and Rick Rowe and his wife, Stewart Rowe; grandchildren, Clifton Caudle, Anthony Crosby and his fiancee, Ashley Arroyo, Aubrey Crosby, Austin Crosby, Matthew Rowe, Michael Rowe, Ryan Rowe, Lauren Rowe, and Emily Rowe. The family would also like to thank NovantHealth Hospice for the loving care they provided.
