LeConte Cavin Perry, 82, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2010, at Hospice of Union County following a short illness. Mr. Perry was born March 17, 1928, in Troutman, NC to the late Judge and Bessie Perry. He is also preceded in death by his brother, the late Judge Avery Perry, Jr. LeConte served in the U.S. Navy and was a retiree of the Charlotte Police Department. He was a member of the Charles M. Setzer Lodge #693, Oasis Temple, Scottish Rite, Charlotte Mecklenburg Governmental Retiree Association, NC Retired Governmental Employees, NC Retired Peace Officers Association, and Fraternal Order of Police. L.C. enjoyed being a member of the "Old Foggies", a group of neighborhood retirees that met together monthly to prepare meals for the homeless shelter. Along with his late wife, Barbara Dixie Perry, he was a member of Newell Baptist Church. He is survived by one of ten sisters, Helen Kimbrell, of Mt. Ulla, NC; two daughters, Kathleen Mork and her husband, Jarl, of Westchester, PA, Anne Reed, of Charlotte; his son, Kenneth Perry of Charlotte; three granddaughters, Jennifer McCarthy, Lauren and Kristin Mork; great grandchildren, Jenna and Cara McCarthy and Courtney Freed.
