Laura McRorie McKenzie

Laura McRorie McKenzie, 95, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday morning, July 31, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George W. McKenzie, Jr. Laura was an independent and talented lady that loved the Lord, her family, and friends. Reading and working in her garden were her passion. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, and long time friend, Alfred Starling of Charlotte, NC. Her immediate family includes her sister, Bernice Younger (Halifax, VA); two sons, George W. McKenzie, III and wife, Alice, (Matthews, NC), and L. Douglas McKenzie (Pebble Beach, CA); grandchildren, Jodie Bishop and husband, Jim, (Darien, CT), Susan Bacot (Boone, NC), Linda Hendley and husband, Wes, (Charlotte, NC), and Laura McKenzie (Washington, DC); great grandchildren, Kristyn Bacot (Boone, NC), Michael Hendley (Charlotte, NC), Brooke Bacot (Boone, NC), Elijah Bacot (Boone, NC), and Forrest Bishop (Darien, CT).
