Lukin L. Hudnall

Mrs. Ida Lukin Lewis Hudnall, 94, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully at her home on Apr. 26, 2013. Lukin had an unwavering devotion to God and family, a green thumb, a talent for baking and enjoying sweet treats and a special gift for finding good in all things. Lukin was born November 2, 1918 in Appomattox, Virginia, the daughter of Ella Mitchell Lewis and John Robert Lewis. She graduated from Virginia Baptist Hospital as a registered nurse. Her natural love of children would guide a promotion to director of the hospital's nursery department. Lukin was a charter and active member of Candlewyck Baptist Church in Charlotte. Lukin was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Roy Gower Hudnall, Jr. She is survived by her son, James; grandchildren Jillian, Katy and James; great-grandchildren Tyler and Avery; niece Virginia and husband Tim; nephew Robert and wife, Patricia. *In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Candlewyck Baptist Church, 7200 Providence Road, Charlotte 28226. -
