Diana Lynn Wingate, 54, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, March 13, 2017. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Katie Nicole Wingate and her father, Hank Roos. Her immediate family includes her mother, Nancy Roos; her daughters, Heather Mathews and her husband, Tom, and Megan Wingate; her brothers, Jeff and David Roos; and three grandchildren, Teagan Stuller, Kylie Edmond, and Jayden Edmond. Lynn was most known for her charisma. From striking up a conversation with the cashier, to laughing with a stranger in the check out line, she always was able to make a friend wherever she went. Along with her character, she showed great compassion to those she saw in need. She took people into her home, gave them love, and made them her family. In her lifetime she was a dental assistant, worked in the CMS school system, and hospitality; however, nothing compared to her most important job as being a mother, and later "nana" to her grandchildren. Her legacy will always be the love, patience, and kindness she gave to children, as she too was a child at heart. Lynn was diagnosed with breast cancer early 2015. Her fight was long, her heart stayed strong, and her bravery was one very few possess. Her journey is an admiration to many, and a perfect example of strong will. She will forever be loved, and her stories will be told for years to come. Please join us Friday, March 17th at 1PM for celebration of Lynn's journey through life. Her service will be held at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte. Thank you for your prayers and God bless. For those that wish to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, place make them to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House (Huntersville) or the National Breast Cancer Foundation. -
