M.A. Hartsell

Mr. Murray Asbury "Bud" Hartsell, 91, of Charlotte, passed away October 11, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital. Bud was born in Salisbury, NC to Stuart and Ila Hartsell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jane, and his Brother Bill Hartsell. He retired from Nestle Foods with 30 years service. Bud was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army 1st Calvary Division. He was deployed and proudly fought for our freedom on the Pacific Front in the Philippine Islands. He was a Mason and a member of the Oasis Shrine Temple. Bud is survived by his son Steve and his wife Georganna and granddaughter Wesley Anne. A very special thanks to Chuck and Julia Hunsuck for their unselfish time, support, and loving care; also, to Jerry Berry and Mack Brayboy, for their kindness and encouragement for Bud; finally, to Presbyterian ICU for their compassion and assurance of his peaceful transition. Remembrance will be private. The family simply asks friends of Bud to remember him fondly and wish him well at his final destination. -
