Madgie Lee Hicks

Madgie Lee Hicks, of Charlotte, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Heavenly Father October 3, 2015. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends. Madgie was born in Water Valley, Mississippi, the oldest daughter of the late Bill and Mary Mooneyham. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Johnson, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Before moving to North Carolina with her husband, Tom, she had resided in the State of Washington, Amarillo and Del Rio Texas, Okinawa, England, and Hampton Virginia. For 25 years she was employed by Holiday Inn and the Sheraton. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan( in her words their #1 fan) and enjoyed bowling and going to tournaments. She was a devout Christian and her faith was her life and her strength. She was a beautiful soul inside as well as out. Madgie will be missed by many. Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Hicks; son Ricky Johnson; daughter, Debora S. Johnson, both of Charlotte; brother, Charles Mooneyham of Water Valley, MS; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 4 step children. -
