Margaret Pressley

October 8, 1911 — July 7, 2010

Mrs. Pressley, 98, of Monroe, but formerly of Charlotte, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 7, 2010. Born in Union County, NC on October 8, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Columbus Frank Yandle and Florence Trull Yandle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dallas L. Pressley of Charlotte. Mrs. Pressley retired from Sears in 1975, after 23 years of service in the Credit Department. She graduated from Indian Trail High School in Indian Trail, NC. She was a charter member of Idlewild Baptist Church in Mint Hill where she was a member of Young at Heart. Later she became a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, in Monroe, where she took an active part in the Golden Years Senior Group. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and cross-stiching. Mrs. Pressley is survived by her daughter, Phyllis A. Helms and husband, James D. Helms and her son, Frank S. Pressley and wife, Donna Ashcraft Pressley, all of Monroe; four grandchildren, Doug Helms and wife, Tina, of Monroe, Angie Helms Funderud and husband, Bill, of Matthews, Nicole Pressley Forbis of Charlotte, and Scott Pressley of Concord; ten great grandchildren, Jackie Helms, Dillon Helms, and Dalton Helms, all of Monroe, Alec Forbis, Hannah Forbis, and Emma Thorpe, all of Charlotte, Jason Pressley and David Pressley of Concord, and Alli Funderud and Anna Funderud of Matthews; one great, great grandson, Jacob Pressley.
