Mark Anderson Hively was born in Pasadena, California. He graduated high school at Clearwater High School, Clearwater Florida. Mark matriculated at the University of Florida in Gainesville Florida. Mark moved later on to Charlotte, North Carolina to continue his career.
Mark was married to May Hively (Cape) on November 27, 2004. Mark leaves to mourn his precious wife May Hively of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters, Gaby Hively and Joy Cape of Charlotte, North Carolina. His mother Shirley Hively of Clearwater, Florida; one brother, John Hively of Clearwater Florida. He has two sisters, Sheila Cooley of Duluth, Georgia and Lisa (John) Cortez of Clearwater Florida. One niece, Alexa Cortez of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Two nephews, Matthew Cortez of Deltona, Florida, and Jeremy Cooley of Lawrenceville, Georgia along with a host of relatives and friends. He also has many nieces and nephews in the Philippines. Last but not least he leaves to mourn his beloved Doberman Pinscher Percy who was with him when he passed this life.
Mark ate, slept, and breathed Florida Gators. He also enjoyed the hobbies of sailing and motorcycle riding. Mark loved being the Pitt Master of the grill for any function. Mark loved to take his family traveling and they had many special adventures together.
Mrs. May Hively along with the family would like to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, gifts, visits, and calls as well as your prayers. Special thanks goes out from the family to Pastor Kelvin Smith, Pastor Ted White along with the members of Steele Creek Church of Charlotte who has been the "wind beneath our wings" through prayers and support. Windy Gap Life Group has been a tremendous blessing to the family for which she is so grateful. The family would like to also thank all of Mrs. Hively's coworkers and friends who have stood by the family. Mrs. Hively would like to give special thanks to all the Filipino population for their demonstrations of love, care and concern during this time of bereavement. The family is ever so grateful to Gaskin Funeral Home for their professionalism, service and loving support.

The Home going services of Mark will be held at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, North Carolina at 1929 West Arrowood Rd. Charlotte, North Carolina. The services will take place on March 2nd with visitation at 12 o'clock. The celebration will start promptly at 1 o'clock. The repast will follow at the church.
