Beth Ross

Myra Elizabeth (Beth) Kiker Ross took the Lord’s hand on March 20, 2023 and was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Fred.   Beth was born on April 27, 1935 to Ira and Maude Kiker and was the baby of 7 children, all who have preceded her in death.

Beth was married 68 years to the late Fred Ross, the love of her life.  Beth is survived by son Steven Ross (Connie) of Sevierville TN; daughter Wanda Ross Greene (Boyd) of Indian Trail; son Gary Ross of Indian Trail; 9 grandkids and 21 great grandkids.

 Beth retired from United Carolina Bank where she worked in customer service for 25 years. She loved this job and always had so much fun that Fred often teased her saying she would pay them to let her work there.  Later Beth worked for the family business, RCOM, for 11 years. Beth loved to travel and visited all 50 states (many of them numerous times), all but one province in Canada and made it to the Holy Land twice.  Beth loved her church, Mill Grove UMC, where she was an active member.  She taught Sunday School for adults and children, served as a youth leader, was active in the United Methodist Women group and sang in the choir. If any event was taking place at the church, especially if it involved food, Beth was there to lend a helping hand. Beth’s loves included her family, her God, her church and her special love was entertaining everyone with her humorous poems and skits. It was hard to be around Beth and not laugh and have a good time. She was a happy person who found good and fun in any situation.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 2, at Mill Grove United Methodist Church in Indian Trail. Visitation with the family will take place from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Beth’s name be made to Mill Grove UMC, 7311 Mill Grove Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079 or Alzheimer’s Association - Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.  Gaskin Funeral Services in Matthews is serving the family.
