Maureen “Reen” Harris Moore
 

Reen is survived by her husband Wayne, her three children and their spouses Katie & Scott Rakestraw, Allen & Alison Moore, and Duffy & Eddie Moore, six of her grandchildren - Graham, Adam, Caroline, Maggie, Wyatt, and Emerson, and her siblings Pom Skinner (Bill), Tyndall Harris (Cyndi), and Georgia Krueger (Scott). Reen was preceded in death by her parents, Tyndall and Mary Harris, and her grandson Andrew.

Born in Durham, Reen spent most of her early life in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she met her husband of almost 52 years, Wayne. Reen and Wayne moved to Charlotte to raise their family. Reen devoted her life to raising her children and volunteering in many capacities - as a Girl and Boy Scout leader, in hospitals, and in classrooms, even leading a character initiative at the local elementary school. Her hobbies of reading, “playing in the dirt”, and scrapbooking brought her much joy. She was also a dyed-in-the-wool Carolina basketball fan. Her best times were spent surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren on holidays and their annual family beach vacation. A friendly nature, fantastic spirit, wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit drew people to her and kept her entertaining family and caretakers during her final illness.
