Michael Wayne Justice

May 4, 1954 — April 21, 2022

Mr. Michael Wayne Justice passed away peacefully at Novant Matthews on April 21, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eber and Helen Justice; brother, Melvin Justice; sister, Shirley Justice; nephew, Lesley Justice; and niece, Amy Justice.

Michael is survived by his son, Christopher Justice; brothers, Larry and Kenneth "Kenny" Justice; sisters, Doris "Dede" Wade (Rick) and Cynthia "Hillary" Smith (Terry); nephew, Todd Justice (Cheryl); nieces, Pamela Justice, Amber Smith (Jimmy) and Amanda Rutemiller (Eli); great nephews, Brandon Pennigar and Gabriel Garzoni; great nieces, Elisabeth and Ally Justice; his sweet girls, Kassidy Whitley, Salem Jackimowicz, and Cambrie "baby" Rutemiller; special friend, Bobbie Richardson and daughter Chanel, who often brought food and helped look after him; and lastly, his precious furbaby, Luna.

Michael worked as a machine operator at Ballabox for 48 years before retiring in 2019, where he made life-long friends. He enjoyed watching wrestling, western movies, listening to his favorite music and living life to the fullest. To know Michael was to know the most easy going person. His love for cars was evident throughout his life, as he took pride in caring for all his vehicles, putting together and collecting model cars and going to car shows. Michael will be greatly missed by all his family and loved ones.

The Justice family would like to express our love and deepest gratitude for Michael's niece, Amanda Rutemiller for being his caretaker for the last 3 years. She was his angel on earth. Due to Amanda's continued care and support, Michael was able to remain functional and independent in his home. Michael would not have made it without Amanda's stewardship. He truly loved Amanda and Eli. Also, a special thank you to Novant Matthews ICU nurses and the Novant Heart and Vascular team, Justin Jackimowicz and the Stallings Fire Department, Union EMS (Norcott D' Esterre), Rhonda Sweatt, Kathy Everette, and Donna Little from Union EMS Community Paramedicine Program.
