Milly S. Martin

Milly Lorraine Martin, 79, of Charlotte, passed away on May 2, 2014. She was born and raised in Queens, New York, where she met and married Joe, the love of her life. Milly is preceded in death by grandson Bradley Martin. After moving to Charlotte in 1976, she became an active member in Sharon United Methodist Church and New Neighbors Club where she was voted New Neighbor of the Year. She was very charitable both in church and as the voice of all God's creatures. Milly will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and friend. She was always there in times of need, never knew a stranger, and her charitable nature and love for others touched everyone. Her immediate family includes her husband, Joseph "Joe" Martin; son Joseph L. Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughters Kimberly Martin Biggs of Charlotte, NC and Julie Diane Reynolds of Mill Spring, NC; two grandchildren, Kristin Biggs and Joseph M. Martin of Oceanside, CA; three great-grandchildren. *As a lifelong advocate of animal rights the family requests donations to the North Shore Animal League (516-883-7575, www.animalleague.org), in lieu of flowers. -
