Paulette McGee Spencer

INDIAN TRAIL - Paulette McGee Spencer, 87, went to her heavenly home on November 12, 2022.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Gaskin Funeral Services. The family will received friends 1 hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Conover City Cemetery, 702 3rd St SE, Conover, NC.

She was born October 2, 1935 in Salisbury, NC and was the daughter of the late Joseph Coleman and Mary Hager McGee. In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herman Lee Spencer.

She was a 1957 graduate of The North Carolina School for the Deaf and that is where she met Herman. Paulette attended Chapel for the Deaf for many years and worked at Carolina Mills in Maiden, NC. She was always able to light up a room with her fun loving personality and loved to laugh and joke with friends and family. Paulette truly was a special person and love by all.

She is survived by daughters, Shelly Spencer Clark and husband, Thomas and Jana Spencer Bridgewater and husband, Scott; sister, Becky Hilderbrand; grandchildren, Krista Clark, Ryan Clark and wife, Sara, Brittany Bridgewater, Tyler Bridgewater and wife, Lizzy and Spencer Bridgewater; and great-grandson, Eli Ryan Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the  Ascension Lutheran Church Deaf Ministry, 1225 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
