Peter A. "Pete" Norman

Peter Alan Norman March 14, 1940 - October 3, 2016 Peter was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifton (Pete)H. Norman. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Hanover College. Peter joined the navy in 1962, and retired in 1985 as Captain. During his service he received a National Defense Metal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Dominican Republic) and a Battle Efficiency Award. He began serving the Lord in 1983. he would hope to be remembered not for his achievements, but for his walk of faith with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pete passed away following a courageous battle with cancer and has now passed on to glory! Among the others that have gone on before him, he will be meeting Jesus, and then his daughter Brenda Elizabeth Norman, and then his parents in heaven. Pete is survived by his wife, Riley Norman of Harrisburg, NC, and his daughter Donna McWhorter, son-in-law Roger McWhorter, grandchildren Brenda Elizabeth, Matthew Franklin, and Samuel Peter McWhorter of Indian Trail, NC, and his sister, Phyllis Clarke of Connecticut. - -
